For international lawyer Pedro J. Mart铆nez-Fraga (A84), winning the St. John鈥檚 College Alumni Association Award of Merit in 2022 was 鈥渕ore important to me than the presidential appointment that I got from President Obama.鈥�
In January, St. John鈥檚 College launched its new web and podcast series Continuing the Conversation. The series features intimate dialogue on the great books between St. John鈥檚 tutors, showcasing the college鈥檚 conversational approach to education while shining the light from one discipline into the mirror maze of another. Alumnus and filmmaker Jeremy Sheeler (AGI18) played an integral role in the project.
George S. Kalandadze (A22) is many things鈥攁 storyteller for brands, a part-time poet, and one-time attendant of the St. John鈥檚 boathouse in Annapolis. He is also a fiercely optimistic and careful person when it comes to his career, life, and education.
鈥淐ome one, come all鈥� is the message of Johnnie Week, inviting alumni and families to return to either or both campuses, or reconnect with St. John鈥檚 through a week of virtual programming.
Henry Horsey (SF79), a management consultant based in Washington, DC, firmly believes that one can learn most technology implementations in several weeks or months, but it takes a lot more time to teach people how to communicate both orally and in writing. St. John鈥檚 College graduates come to the job market with those skills honed and matured.
